If you want to display your Android phone on a larger
screen, it’s possible with an Android projector. Using your mobile device’s
HDMI cable and connecting it to the portable projector via USB should work
fine. Or if you have an MHL adapter, you can plug the adapter into the
projector and connect it to your device using its HDMI cable.
If these solutions don't work for you, try connecting your
phone to the internet wirelessly or tethering it with another device that is
connected via WiFi or Bluetooth.
1) Go into the Settings menu on your phone and find "Connections". This is usually under the "Wireless and networks" section.
2) Click on "WiFi", then find the networks
available and connect to one of them. This will allow your phone to connect to
your projector wirelessly.
To tether, go into Settings -> Wireless & networks
-> Tethering & portable hotspot and turn it on.
3) Connect the projector to the network that was created in
step 2 above via either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, you should be able to display your
Android phone onto a larger screen now.

This is how to connect android phone to projector via usb +
@eagle610: if you have a laptop/pc with a HDMI port and an
MHL adapter, then you can just connect your android device using the MHL cable
that came with it from Samsung. However this method only works with USB OTG
ports such as on connecting USB flash drives or other external devices.
If you have an MHL to HDMI cable, then you will be able to
connect your android device to the projector via USB and project it onto the
screen.
You can find a cheap MHL to HDMI cable on eBay such as this
one but since those things are pretty much just a bunch of wires that come with
the adapter, they are not very reliable especially if there is no screen
protector on your phone.
One more thing is that there are some videos online where
people used an old DVD player for their android projector connection but that's
totally not a good idea as DVD players do consume quite some amount of power
and get really hot really fast. For example, a standalone DVD player already
gets hot after letting it run for an hour or so.
Anyway what you said is the best option out of all of them.
I read in some reviews that it's also possible to connect your android phone to
a projector via internet but from my experience, connecting via HDMI is way
faster than using internet as it takes more time for the connection to be
established when using Wifi/3G/4G/LTE.
I'm not sure how useful this tip is anymore after this post
but thanks for contributing anyway This tip is still useful to some extent as
some people are still unaware that they can connect their phones to projectors
via USB even if it's not via a OTG or MHL adapter. But nevertheless, I'm happy
that I helped you by adding this info here.
